Im so happy right now. Got my time table now and guess what. They cram all lessons into 2 full days and plus for the first term it’s only 1 and a half days. That means I only have to travel to Leeds twice a week. That will save me £100 a month. Plus I can then spend more time working at my part time job. Instead of just doing the odd day here and there I can work 2 or 3 full days. I’m so relieved

Also the first year is just revisiting what I did in college so first year will be a breeze. Also we have also got one assignment already and it doesn’t have to be in till after xmas. But that’s not it. The assignment is for C Programming and looking at it it is so easy the assignment. I should be able to complete that in a couple of days solid. Then I can choose to skip that lesson to do other work or do some more advance coding.

Ok I found where I need to be…. Supposedly I was to show up on the 17th last week for an induction. Anyway I asked why this information was not posted to me and the tech college has my old address. The university did not inform the college of my change of address. Any way it’s not a big deal as it was only a 3 hour induction.

Anyway today I’m in till 7pm OMG!!! I hope it isn’t like this all everyday otherwise im going to have no time to do anything. Anyway I get my timetable later today and hopefully find out how many days a week it is.

So far the subjects seem easy as all the stuff we cover in first year is revisiting what we did at college. First year shouldn’t be so much of a problem…

So yeah first day at university, on the train right now soaking wet. First day and it pissed it down. As you may be aware that I have to cycle to York train station first. It’s about 10 minutes cycle so you can imagine how wet I am. I think I will invest in some water proof trousers for the winter….

Anyway I sometimes get the feeling that something is trying to stop me from getting to Uni. Things haven’t gone so well last couple of days regarding university. University fees have to be paid which is fair enough. As the techy person I am I decided to do it online. Well every time I try to do it online there is either a problem with the payment system or it doesn’t make any sense what so ever. Anyway I sent in an email which hasn’t been replied t I’m hoping I will get some answers today when I get in.

Also when I get to university I have no idea where I need to be. I got tones of post but not a since piece of post doesn’t tell me where to go or what time. It just says term starts on the 24th. However it does say what building so I’ll try going there first.

Anyway signing off as I have a guy sat next to me and I feel he is reading what I’m saying. I wonder if he is reading this the nosey git.

I spend a lot of time sat behind the computer, well I get a lot of people tell me just turn off your computer and go out. Yes that is true and recently I have really felt the need to go out. I don’t know why but I just don’t like staying in as much as I did. I would rather go out just walk about and see what’s going on in the world.

Well last night I just did that. It was late and I walked most of the way around York. Anyway I ended up at the train station. Ummm where can I go?? Well train for Leeds for boarding, jumped on, on my way to Leeds. So did I round trip to Leeds and back. There was no ticket inspector on so I ended up getting a free ride

Other day in York there was live entertainment on in the city centre. Anyway I thought I’d stay, watch and listen. Anyway while everyone was setting up this old man came too and at first I thought he had problems in his head as he was talking to himself and was saying random things to everyone. Well anyway the first act on the live entertainment was some DJ’s and I must admit the tunes they were playing were very good. Well this old man who has a walking stick just gets up and starts dancing away. I got a short clip of him dancing on my mobile so take a look

Out and about in York today. Just something to laugh about a song came to my head, Lonely by Akon. Well anyway I was singing it in my head thinking nothing about it when another thought came into my head; maybe I should become an Emo. Well straight away I dismissed the thought and told myself to stop moaning about being alone. Life is going good right now for me there is no reason to spoil it with feeling down. Consider myself told off.

Well sure enough the time is here and I’m off to university. Over next few days I have to get myself ready and read up on what needs to be done ready for starting. I will update when I know more on what I have to do.

As some of you may know where I work I build and maintain web applications for the business. Well one of them that have been rolled out is to try and automate a procedure online which would usually have to be dealt with on the phone call. Well anyway the problem was getting the users familiarized with the new system and getting them to use that rather than phoning the IT Support Desk. Well anyway I had my doubts that the users wouldn’t use it, but sure enough over the past couple of days users have been using it and it appears to be a complete success. I feel a great achievement here.
