So when we went to Florida it was hurricane season so we were bound to get some real nasty storms, well we sure did. Heavy down pours with loads of thunder and lightning. I managed to capture some with my camera but the sound is not very good on it. You really have to be there to really feel how powerful the storm really was.
So I was in Tesco’s and just about to get to the cashier and my friend James notices that the cashier is wearing a healthy living T-Shirt. “Well isn’t that ironic” he says, well the picture speaks for its self.
Just what are Tesco thinking to give this poor lady a top advertising healthy living when she clearly hasn’t being doing just that?
As mine was starting to fall apart due to it being left outside all the time I have gone a gotten a new bike. It’s one my mum had got but she didn’t want it so I bought it from her. It’s one of these fold up ones that folds up to about a size of a suitcase. Ideal for folding up and bringing indoors and storing. Now it’s not left outdoors in the rain and should last me a good few years. Well my last bike was about 6 years old so it had a good innings.
Yesterday I had to go to York to clean my old flat so it was ready for inspection on Thursday. Well I stopped by in town to get lunch and went to Subway. Well there was a long queue and while I was waiting I was watching the staff serve people, as you do. One of the girls serving looked familiar. I swore I knew her. Well when I got closer and could hear her speaking and I was like yup I know that voice. It was a girl I went to school with at Howsham Hall like 5 years ago.
I could remember her surname “Smith” but not her first name. Anyway one of the staff said her name “Ella” and was like YES that’s defiantly her.
That’s the first person I had seen from Howsham Hall since leaving 5 years ago. As I left Howsham Hall early and didn’t get time to say good bye to any one I lost all contact with the staff and friends there. As it was busy in Subway I just left a number with Ella to give me a ring. Maybe I can see what happened to everyone and where everybody is now. She most probably not ring as she never liked me at school 
but that’s not why I left my number. It was in the hope that she might still talk to some of my friends from school. I’d love to catch up with my friends and see what they are doing now.
I was surprised to see Ella working in Subway though… You would think that with a good education background she would have a decent job. Well I suppose you have to start somewhere. Before I was working at Ford I was cleaning in a pub in the morning.
I decided to go down by the river and sit and look out for a bit. Just to clear my head etc. Well when I got out “Burr” it was freezing. So after all that I never did take a sit down. Was far too cold to be sitting still. So instead took a walk along the river to keep warm. Oh and along the way I saw a squirrel 
obviously it was looking for nuts for the winter. I sneaked up to it and took a short video hehe.
You can’t see much but as you can see as soon as i got close it ran up the tree. Later on when not recording it, it came back down and continued its hunt for nuts lol.
Ok so I haven’t updated my blog in a few weeks but it’s been busy busy busy. While at university the other day Alex from university suggested that I could stay with him as he had a spare room. I told at first that it was out of the question due to working at York at Ford 3 days a week.
Well after a few hours thinking about it, and knowing that ford let some of their staff work from home then I thought what if I asked if I could work from home 2 days a week and come in on Friday. That way I could live in Leeds but still work at Ford. Doing this I would be staying in leeds close to University. Cut down on one day’s travel and save myself a lot of money on living costs as it isn’t cheap in York.
Well Friday at work I asked for a word with the boss and I asked how he would feel about working from home or if he would let me. I described the reasons why. Straight away he said yes that’s not a problem but if traveling isn’t an issue I’d rather you came in for all three days of a week and we will pay from your transport. Well to me that’s perfect. I can live in Leeds, still come to work 3 days a week but not lose any money on transport.
Anyway I had to tell my mum the other day about it as she has been keeping track of me regarding a new place to stay etc. Well guess what she was over the moon once she heard that I had found a place in Leeds and that Ford would pay for my transport. She has been like typical mum last few days, “oooo I’m so proud of you Scott” LOL
Well today I’m going up to Alex’s place to see what his accommodation is like. It might not be ideal for me so we will be back to looking for accommodation but this time we can find places in Leeds. I’ll let you know how I get on later.
My search for water proof trousers this morning has failed. All I could find was some cheap ones for just £10. As they say you get what you pay for so I will keep looking for some better ones.
Anyway im on the train now. It’s amazing how many trains out from York go through Lees. It’s great I can just jump on about any train. There must be a train ever 20 minutes to Leeds from York.
I also thought Id put Skye on my phone today. Because there is free WIFI in Leeds met university then it’s cheaper for me to make calls through Skye than using my pass as you go tariff on Orange. I really should change my provider as my phone is now unlocked to any network. Thing is I’ve had this number for so long I don’t like the idea of changing it. And if I want to move this number to another provider it would have to be contract and it could take up to 4 weeks for the transfer of a number. I can’t wait that long
Im so happy right now. Got my time table now and guess what. They cram all lessons into 2 full days and plus for the first term it’s only 1 and a half days. That means I only have to travel to Leeds twice a week. That will save me £100 a month. Plus I can then spend more time working at my part time job. Instead of just doing the odd day here and there I can work 2 or 3 full days. I’m so relieved 
Also the first year is just revisiting what I did in college so first year will be a breeze. Also we have also got one assignment already and it doesn’t have to be in till after xmas. But that’s not it. The assignment is for C Programming and looking at it it is so easy the assignment. I should be able to complete that in a couple of days solid. Then I can choose to skip that lesson to do other work or do some more advance coding.
Ok I found where I need to be…. Supposedly I was to show up on the 17th last week for an induction. Anyway I asked why this information was not posted to me and the tech college has my old address. The university did not inform the college of my change of address. Any way it’s not a big deal as it was only a 3 hour induction.
Anyway today I’m in till 7pm OMG!!! I hope it isn’t like this all everyday otherwise im going to have no time to do anything. Anyway I get my timetable later today and hopefully find out how many days a week it is.
So far the subjects seem easy as all the stuff we cover in first year is revisiting what we did at college. First year shouldn’t be so much of a problem…
So yeah first day at university, on the train right now soaking wet. First day and it pissed it down. As you may be aware that I have to cycle to York train station first. It’s about 10 minutes cycle so you can imagine how wet I am. I think I will invest in some water proof trousers for the winter….
Anyway I sometimes get the feeling that something is trying to stop me from getting to Uni. Things haven’t gone so well last couple of days regarding university. University fees have to be paid which is fair enough. As the techy person I am I decided to do it online. Well every time I try to do it online there is either a problem with the payment system or it doesn’t make any sense what so ever. Anyway I sent in an email which hasn’t been replied t I’m hoping I will get some answers today when I get in.
Also when I get to university I have no idea where I need to be. I got tones of post but not a since piece of post doesn’t tell me where to go or what time. It just says term starts on the 24th. However it does say what building so I’ll try going there first.
Anyway signing off as I have a guy sat next to me and I feel he is reading what I’m saying. I wonder if he is reading this the nosey git.
